I recently subscribed to National Geographic. It was kind of on impulse. I wanted to receive a periodical but not something completely superficial and trifling. So far it’s been good. The latest edition’s cover story is on sugar and human consumption of it. My diet has revolutionized so much over the past few years that either I’ll regret reading the article because it’ll push me even further away from socially convenient habits (and leave me with less and less food options) or, because I already eat so little processed food, I’ll find it an interesting read and be doubly glad I not longer drink soft drinks or eat candy bars or buy frozen dinners.
In other news, it’s my Friday again. Seems like the weeks drag out and still manage to fly by. The very best thing about my Fridays continues to be that I get off work at 5:00 and go straight to yoga at the Community Hall (I love having local donation-supported yoga classes in my tiny little town) to stretch and breathe away the stresses of the workweek in preparation for a few days of wilderness relaxation. Except this weekend. Because I’ll be going to jury duty. So, as much as I can use a Tuolumne experience to balance out my more-than-usually stressful week, I’ll instead find myself in Mariposa’s fine historic courthouse awaiting a chance to pass judgment on the actions of others… Hope I at least come out with some sharable stories.
Addendum from a few hours later:
My Friday keeps getting better and better! I got a huge accounting problem solved AND my jury duty summons was just cancelled. I am Jack’s huge sigh of relief. And all signs point to one thing: it’s time to go to Tuolumne!
