Home for a Minute

Housesitting is finished. They actually came home a day early due to a big storm brewing down at Joshua Tree. We were glad, but it also meant we left in a little of a whirlwind because we were on our way to Fresno to do a little shopping when we found out. It was nice to not have to unpack and repack the groceries. And it’s sooooo good to be home. I love my home. :) And being home early meant being able to go to a few local social events like the taco truck night and a performance of The Good Luck Thrift Store Outfit. The taco truck was kind of a bust; I forget just how quiet it is around here in the winter. But we had a friend over and ended up playing a bird memory card game for …a while. Yeah, kinda nerded out testing our memories and comparing bird facts from my plethora of guidebooks. And TGLTSO was a good show as always.

Now I’m all set to head out to Portland this afternoon. I’ll be gone for 5 days, travelling with coworkers and networking with other National Park associations and learning from industry experts and meeting vendors and collecting freebies. Woo-hoo! Oh yeah, and hanging out in the forever-rain.
