Wow. Long day for me today with commuting and work and more commuting. I’m about tired out, but obviously not too tired to not be on the internet while I have the opportunity. Plus I have a cat asleep on my lap right now so getting up to go to bed isn’t going to happen right now.
Just wanna say that I’m increasingly grateful that Craig and I live in El Portal and within a quarter-mile walk of my bus stop. I guess it’s good to refresh your perspective sometimes. 5 minutes set aside to walk to the bus (usually I allow more time because I’m easily distracted by just about everything… birds, trees, flowers, neighbors, etc) and then a 30 minute bus ride to get to work. Ridiculously easy. But a 22 minute drive to the nearest bus stop followed by a 75 minute ride on said bus is, honestly, kinda painful. Perspective, perspective. I remember feeling similarly about my El Portal commute right after I moved down from this past summer in Tuolumne Meadows and my 30 minute hiking commute to work.
But enough of that. It’s been faux spring lately. We had snow a little over a week ago and now wildflowers are blooming and there’s snow in the forecast again. Transition seasons are the best. I love getting out with my camera and binoculars on days like this.
BTW, the woodburning oven also has an electric option. If only dogs could talk I’m sure they would’ve told me…
