That’s what I get…

…for saying “I don’t have specific plans for next week” the other day. Haha. Now there’s soo much going on. But I love it.

Thursday night I ended up getting all dressed up and going to the Mobil to see The Trespassers with a bunch my Tuolumne girls and dancing the night away. Funny how many people I recognized… some Valley people, a LOT of Tuolumners, a few of the employees, and the guys I met at May Lake the other night (which involved an invitation to go back out to hang out again which I’m totally down for). Had some awesome conversations, great food, a couple of questionable moments, and not too horribly late of a bedtime. Friday was my Monday and work… felt like work a little bit more than usual. Maybe because I was tired. Maybe because I had a lot on my mind. Whatever it was, it turned out great. I closed the VC with Salli and we continued a conversation that I’d started with Crystal the night before about what to do at the end of the season if I don’t end up staying in the park working for the Conservancy. I’m going to look into doing interpretation/education outside the park this winter in the bay area (though I’m still hoping to stay in Yosemite). Salli gave me a good lead on a possible job opportunity. And then I ended up sharing a vegetarian fire-cooked meal with some neighbors and visitors, baked some rosemary beer bread and some cinnamon cranberry chocolate chip bread in the pellet stove (which I got up to 300!), had more campfire time, scored a hot shower, and actually read a little before bed. I’m definitely maintaining my ‘so be it’ mentality.

Tonight is the poetry festival open mic night, tomorrow might be awesome dinner night and aquastargazing, Tuesday is the spuds suds n studs party, and then I’ll already be at another weekend. Where does the time go? It’s simultaneously fast and slow around here.

Tuolumne, why can’t your season last forever?
