The view from where I sit has changed significantly.
I’m in Dallas!
It’s amazing how different a place can be. I recognize the sights. I’m familiar with the roads and places and the general lay of the land. I know the people here. But I feel like a stranger. No, not a stranger. A visitor. There’s no way that Dallas can be home for me now. Not with what I want to do and how I want to live and what I want to see and experience. …And that’s ok.
I’m really happy to be here for a visit. I love seeing all my friends and family. And eating good Tex-Mex. And the awesome bookstores. And sweet iced tea. And all the REIs and shopping in general. And coffee dates. And packing… well, yeah, the packing might not necessarily be fun but it’s a good feeling to get it taken care of. As well as all those other things on my checklist.
Oh yeah, and have there always been this many birds here or did I just not pay attention before?
Pictures from the road trip coming soon… Yosemite, Sierra National Forest, Hwy 1, Point Lobos State Reserve, Los Padres National Forest, Montana de Oro State Park, San Bernardino State Forest, Joshua Tree National Park, Grand Canyon National Park, Walnut Canyon National Monument, Petrified Forest National Park, lots of Hwy 40, and then Dallas.
